The Key to Fighting Jealousy & Other Self-Destructive Drugs!

By Zednani
What does it profit a woman to lose her composure over the price of another woman’s shoes? What does it profit a man to bellyache over how much his counterpart is earning rather than concentrating on counting the coppers in his own coffers? What does it profit one to meddle in the affairs of another, then peddle rumors one assumes as truths to all and sundry?
What really does it profit anyone to take Panadol for someone else’s headache? What is the point of worrying about what another is doing, earning, achieving or even involved in?
If I were to assign values to these self-imposed tasks and worries, when tabulated they would surely add up to a negative figure. It’s a waste of time, energy and opportunity.
If someone else occupies a position you would like to attain: learn from them, study them, determine what they did right to get there and if an opportunity presents itself ask them. And if they are not as good or qualified as you, determine what they did to get there anyway.
Determine whether it is something you should adopt or shun, whether your sensibilities say it is a smart short cut you are willing to take or a fork in the road you must ignore and go straight. We are in a whole new world where working smart sometimes pays more than working hard – sense over sweat is the 21st Century way.

Here are 10 ways to make your relationships even better than they were last year.

Forgive

Relationships are tough and someone at some point will have been hurt within your relationship. If that person was you, have you forgiven the other for hurting you? If not, then it’s time to ask yourself why.
Was the thing they did too hurtful? Is the deed too unforgivable? If it is, then you need to end the relationship and move on. Yet if you can forgive them, work hard to get over the hurt and then, once you’re ready and able, do not hold the other person to blame, especially during arguments.

5 Simple Principles of Becoming an Expert

.
There aren’t shortcuts.
Merely direct paths.
Most people don’t take them, because they frighten us.
Things that look like shortcuts are usually detours disguised as less work.
-Seth Godin
For the past month, I’ve been studying people who have become skilled and knowledgeable enough to be called “experts” in preparation for the launch of a new blog.
I’ve interviewed experts, spent time with them and have asked them whether shortcuts exist to becoming an expert (and received some incredible responses like the one from Seth Godin above). I’ve even read books by people who study success and expertise (expertologists?).

Could Iyanya be hunted by the police?

By Benjamin Njoku of Vanguard newspapers
Iyanya has denied reports police officers were looking for him, muttering on phone “Don’t mind them, I am in Abuja.”
Iyanya-2
*Iyanya
Reigning Afro hip hop act, Iyanya is allegedly wanted by the Nigerian Police, in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, in connection with the case of fraud brought against him by popular show organiser,  Opa Williams.
Already, Iyanya’s manager, Ubi-Franklin Ekpong is said to be currently under arrest at Mile 3 Police Division,in the Garden city.
Opa Williams, the producer of Nigeria’s foremost comedy show, ‘Nite of a Thousand Laughs’ reported Iyanya to the police for allegedly collecting N1.7 million from him being payment for the singer’s  performance at  ‘Nite of a Thousand Laughs’ shows which held in Benin  and Port Harcourt  few days ago. Unfortunately, the Kukere crooner never showed up at any  of the shows.
According to our sources, what infuriated Williams was the fact that Iyanya actually arrived Port Harcourt ahead of the show on that fateful day(Monday)only for him to disappear minutes later with his cell phones permanently switched off.
“He has caused me a lot of embarrassment, as people who paid to come and watch him went home disappointed. For 17 years, we have been organizing Nite of A Thousand Laughs and we have built a large followership, I will not allow anybody to destroy the credibility we have as people who deliver on their promises. That’ why we are going to pursue this case (legally) to a logical conclusion and ensure this is the last time Iyanya would do this to anybody.” Williams stated.
Adding, he said ,“When Iyanya failed to show up at Benin edition, which held on December 26, he called to apologise,  promising however to make it up with the Port-Harcourt and Bonny shows. But again, he did not keep to his word.”
Showtime gathered  that Iyanya shunned Opa Williams’ event, but performed earlier at another  show  which held the same day in Port-Harcourt and featured Timaya.
Confirming the buzz, Williams’ media Company, Media Image Managers, said, “We are aware of the issue between Opa Williams and hip hop act, Iyanya. The parties are at the moment at Mile 3 Police Division in Port Harcourt. Our client has informed us he is seeking redress in court. However, there are moves to resolve the matter amicably. It is sad that Iyanya would behave in such an unprofessional manner, but then, the police are handling the matter well.”

The trend of colour blocking

Colour Blocking
Fashion is fast taking a new trend in the sense that what was initially known as colour riot has presently been modified to colour blocking as it is popularly called.
I am beginning to think that fashion is practically going into extinction or that fashion designers lack creativity. Well since the so called colour blocking has become the recent trend and popularly accepted by the majority of the female folks, who then am I to judge the situation? But all the same, colour riot is colour riot and not colour blocking. But I must confess it actually looks nice at the sight of it. Take a look at this.....enjoy
